34 yo/old male presents to a DC office complaining of SI discomfort after an MVA several months ago. A surgical intervention was performed. No prior history of  carcinoma or corticosteroid/opioid regimen.

 

 

What do you see?

DISCUSSION: The left image above shows the left SI joint transfixed by the intra-medullary screw.. The middle image shows is placement into the sacral ala. The diagram is a pictorial representation of the intervention. CT-guided placement of iliosacral screws is a safe, feasible, and cost-effective alternative to radiologically-guided placement in the operating theatre in selected patients. (1)
