Case 6 – Left Sacro-Iliac (SI) discomfort

34 yo/old male presents to a DC office complaining of SI discomfort after an MVA several months ago. Surgical intervention was performed—no prior history of carcinoma or corticosteroid/opioid regimen.

The left image above shows the left SI joint transfixed by the intra-medullary screw.. The middle image shows is placement into the sacral ala. The diagram is a pictorial representation of the intervention.
CT-guided placement of iliosacral screws is a safe, feasible, and cost-effective alternative to radiologically-guided placement in the operating theatre in selected patients. (1)
